Kevin Hendricks

Kevin Hendricks brings over 25 years of experience in a wide variety of corporate transactions, including domestic and international mergers, acquisitions, strategic investments, leveraged buyouts and private equity/venture capital investments. Significant prior matters include:

  • Representation of insurance agency owners in connection with the sale of their businesses to Acrisure, High Street Insurance Partners and Relation Insurance Services.
  • Representation of Milliken & Company in connection with the acquisition of the assets of Kasbar National Industries, a specialty non-wovens manufacturer.
  • Representation of specialty manufacturer in connection with sale to an overseas strategic buyer. Transaction involved cash at closing and plan to buy out owner-managers over a defined period of time.
  • Representation of OB Hospitalist Group in connection with growth equity investment by Summit Partners, a global private equity fund.
  • Representation of majority owners of Recycle South in connection with the sale of equity interests for cash and public company stock in a transaction valued at $515 million to Steel Dynamics, Inc.
  • Representation of Zipit Wireless in connection with sale of convertible preferred stock and subordinated debt to early stage venture capital funds including Windspeed Ventures, SunBridge Partners and Meritus Ventures.
  • Representation of Milliken & Company in connection with the acquisition of Constantine Carpets from a national private equity fund.
  • Representation of angel investors in connection with formation of group and subsequent investments in several portfolio companies.
  • Representation of global manufacturing company in connection with its stalking horse bid for the business of a domestic manufacturer under Section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code.

Kevin began his career at Jones Day, one of the largest law firms in the world. At Jones Day, Kevin received his training by working on public offerings, acquisitions of public companies, acquisitions of private companies, leveraged buyouts, and private equity and venture capital investments.

Kevin moved to Greenville, South Carolina in the mid-1990’s and shortly thereafter became General Counsel of NewSouth Communications, which later became a portfolio company of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR).  While at NewSouth, Kevin learned to bring a business perspective to legal issues.  Kevin’s business focus helps him give clients practical advice on issues facing businesses at all stages.

Kevin received a B.A. from Furman University (Greenville, SC), graduating magna cum laude. Additionally, he received an M.B.A. and a J.D. with honors from the University of Texas (Austin, TX).

Lawson Wetli

Lawson Wetli has a number of years of experience advising public and private companies with their corporate and securities matters.  She began her legal career in the mid 1990’s in the New York office of Gibson Dunn, a large national law firm with a sophisticated corporate and securities practice.  There, she worked on a variety of matters across a range of corporate practice areas, including senior debt financings, securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions and the negotiation of large commercial transactions.

In the late 1990’s, Lawson moved to Greenville to practice with a South Carolina-based law firm. There, she represented a range of clients, from public companies to local start-up businesses, in corporate and securities matters like financings, acquisitions, contractual matters and securities compliance.

Specific matters Lawson has worked on at entrepreneurs law group include: 

  • Representation of Milliken & Company in connection with the acquisition of the assets of Kasbar National Industries, a specialty non-wovens manufacturer.
  • Representation of specialty finance company in connection with asset-based loan facility of $20 million.
  • Representation of executive stockholders of private equity sponsored staffing services company.
  • Representation of technology company in connection with angel financing.

Lawson is also a certified mediator and volunteers with the Upstate Mediation Center, which offers affordable mediation services for family law disputes.

Lawson received a B.A. (magna cum laude) from the University of Georgia (Athens, GA) and received a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law (New York, NY).
